Herb, KV4FZ has a location that's great for a DX operation on St. Croix. There is a small apartment next to the ham shack. The location is on the south shore of St. Croix about 300 meters from the water in an open area with acres of beverages for the low bands, and not far from a giant salt pond.
The equipment available consists of an Icom 765, Drake L-7 amplifier and a Drake MN-2700 2KW tuner with antenna switching. A 600Mhz eMachine computer has CT Version 10.01.010 installed. Emergency power is available for 100 watt operation, but QRO will require the rental of a generator at $50 per day.
The antenna farm consists of a 75 foot Rohn 45G tower with an A3 tribander, which is also top loaded for 160m. There is a delta loop for 80m & 40m, an HF2-V 80/40m vertical and 30m vertical. A K6SE Pennant and three 600 foot Beverages and one 800 foot are used for Receive. With the quoted price you get technical assistance and tower climber for any custom setup the person wishes.
The regular price of $995 for four days and three nights is for a single operator. If another op or XYL is part of the package the price goes to $1295 and includes continental breakfast and light lunch during the contest. The 4 day 3 Nights is at the ham shack location. Herb will provide transportation to and from the airport on St. Croix.
Two additional nights for the discount price $50 per night can be arranged at the Divi Carina, a 4 Star Caribbean beachfront hotel.
